Love this book, a real make you thinker!

I loved this book! I'm a busy mom and I don't read much, but I read this book in just two days, I couldn't put it down.
It really makes you think. It has some fantastic easy ideas for improving your quality of life. You can put them to use right away and use them everyday. Some of them I already use and some of them were new ideas for me. It has me not just living differently but thinking differently.
She begins with her own story so you know it's written by a real person with real issues like the rest of us. Not someone who has had a perfect life and therefore finds inner peace to come easily. It's much harder to find inner peace when life presents you with lots of challenges. But this book presents it in a way that is completely do able. It's a fairly short book I think 11 Chapters. There is a whole lot of truth in this book. She talks about different religions in this book but the ideas for inner peace do not adhere to any one sect. It makes it easy to use the book with any religious background or belief.
It is so interesting it's very worth the read, If you want a book to really make you think then this is the book for you.

Ms. Muraywed has written a wonderful story about how to live a clear and beautiful life by changing your thoughts. Many have read or listened to ideas and theories about how to do this. Victoria's book, Finding Inner Peace, however is different. Her story is honest, open and full of the truths we have forgotten and need to know. Understanding how she developed, her very personal past, gives the reader compassion for their own choices and decisions to venture from the traditional path. I highly recommend purchasing this book. Her experience has taught me to have courage to be the light my inner voice tells me I am. This book will be a strong investment in you and your future.

I loved this book! I would recomend this book to anyone who wants to be enlightened and inspired. I am not a big reader but I coulden't put it down and read the entire book in one sitting.Finding Inner Peace makes me want to read more about the topics discussed by the author.

Good Book

Great book. Gets all the information across with no detail missed. Can get dry, (as expected of derivation intensive sections) but the topics are pretty cool. Now all seriousness aside, I know a guy that would spend more time reading this book than paying attention to his significant other. This lead to divorce for the couple in wedlock... divorce! So be careful. His kids don't speak to him anymore, he went over the edge, lost it at work, and got let go. He managed to get his life back together and has a few antenna design interviews lined up, but irreparable damage has been done to his relationship with his children, and ex wife. Purchase with caution.

    Grade 6-8--Katie's first word is "kira-kira," the Japanese word for "glittering," and she uses it to describe everything she likes. It was taught to her by her older sister, Lynn, whom Katie worships. Both girls have trouble adjusting when their parents move the family from Iowa to a small town in rural Georgia, where they are among only 31 Japanese-Americans. They seldom see their parents, who have grueling jobs in chicken-processing plants. Then Lynn becomes deathly ill, and Katie is often left to care for her, a difficult and emotionally devastating job. When her sister dies of lymphoma, Katie searches for ways to live up to her legacy and to fulfill the dreams she never had a chance to attain. Told from Katie's point of view and set in the 1950s, this beautifully written story tells of a girl struggling to find her own way in a family torn by illness and horrendous work conditions. Katie's parents can barely afford to pay their daughter's medical bills, yet they refuse to join the growing movement to unionize until after Lynn's death. All of the characters are believable and well developed, especially Katie, who acts as a careful observer of everything that happens in her family, even though there is a lot she doesn't understand.     Intriguing Award Winning Young Reader Book

    I initially considered purchasing this book because it was a similar sounding book title to my niece's name. I thought she would like the connection. I finally decided on the book because of earning the book award. The story seemed innocent and heartwarming enough that I thought my niece might enjoy it at her age of 10. She was delighted to get the book and her mother was intrigued by the story as well. I look forward to hearing their reactions when they are finished reading it!

    About the Author

    Fred Lutgens and Ed Tarbuck have been good friends and colleagues since 1970. Between them, they have more than 57 years of experience teaching geology to undergraduates, and both have been recognized with awards as excellent and inspiring professors. They share a special interest in introducing geology to beginning students and a belief in the value of field experiences for students of all levels.

     

    Lutgens and Tarbuck published their first college text, Earth Science, in 1976. That book, winner of the McGuffy Award from the Text and Academic Authors Association, is now in its fourteenth edition. In 1983, as the first edition of Earth was being prepared, gifted geology illustrator Dennis Tasa joined the author team. Since then the three have collaborated on more than twenty projects. Not only do Tarbuck, Lutgens, and Tasa work well together creatively; they also enjoy spending time in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains near Tasa’s New Mexico studio.

     

    Tarbuck enjoys downhill skiing in Colorado, fly fishing near his childhood home in Northern Minnesota, and spending time in the Cascades. Lutgens is an avid runner, and when he can make the time, truly enjoys hiking the canyons of the Colorado Plateau. Although Lutgens and Tarbuck think alike on many issues, they don’t agree on everything. Lutgens is devoted to jazz and classical music, whereas Tarbuck prefers pop artists or a good country station.

    A great geology book.

    This is the first geology book I have studied. It seems to be fairly complete for an introductory text. The pictures and graphics are excellent and the text easy to follow. A point that needs to be mentioned is that the authors repeat a lot of things multiple times. This is a good thing. It negates the need to go back and look stuff up that was forgotten or missed somehow. Repetition is the key to learning. The authors have done very well in this regard.

    We home school and we used this book for 10 grade high school science. Not being strong in science myself it covered in great detail what I myself didn't know. Good quality and detailed. There is a web sight and code you can enter after each chapter for a on line test. IT then scores it for you. You have the ability to retake the tests as many times as needed.
